DAHA Membership Social and Trail Clinic
Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 10am to 3pm
We will be holding a DAHA Membership Social and Trail Clinic at Summit Ranch in Alamo on August 29th. There will be a catered lunch in the lovely Summit Ranch Lobby. You can either participate and/or be a spectator of an educational trail clinic, taught by our DAHA President and Arabian horse trainer Jill Mitchell. Please bring $15 for lunch and $50 if you wish to join the trail clinic. Non-members and all breeds welcome! There is a 20 horse limit for the trail clinic so RSVP as soon as possible.

DAHA just held our 40th Annual Arabian and Half- Arabian Horse Spring Show at Brookside in Elk Grove and it was a great success.
For those of you who are showing this year, now is the perfect time to enter our DAHA High Point Program! We have a new incentive to submit your show points early: If you submit your show points within 10 DAYS of the show you get 10 BONUS POINTS! By showing at DAHA sponsored shows you also get DOUBLE POINTS!
Ever wonder what our High Point Program is all about? DAHA established the High Point Program for members who compete in horse shows and other events. In recent years, the program has expanded from an emphasis on Arabian events, to include open shows and competitions at all levels. DAHA offers Class A Arabian shows, as well as all-breed, CSHA-sanctioned shows annually. Many other organizations also sponsor competitive events in our area and in regions nearby. We encourage our members to present their purebred and half-Arabian horses to the horse world at large. Championship awards are presented at an annual dinner in January. High Point class sponsorships and entry fees help to defray the cost of the awards presented. Please consider sponsoring one or more classes to help support the High Point Program. We look forward to seeing you and your horses in competition this year, whether you aspire to Regional or National levels, or prefer to compete locally. On August 8, DAHA is planning its Pt Reyes trail ride--always beautiful and always fun. Mark the date, and stay tuned for more info.
We are also planning a club social either in the summer or early fall--a time for munchies, gabbing, and perhaps a horse demo from one of our club trainers! More info to follow.
